Farplay privacy

The short version

Farplay has no adverts, no analytics, no third-party trackers and no advertising identifiers. It does not sell or share your data. What you put in is visible to you and to the one partner you linked with — and cycle data, not even to them unless you say so.

Who it is for

Farplay is for adults. You must be 18 or older to create an account. We set the bar higher than most apps because it handles menstrual cycle data, which is health data, and carries private notes between two people.

What an account stores

• Your email address, so you can sign in. Passwords are handled by Google Firebase Authentication and are never stored by us.
• Your display name, your time zone, and an optional relationship start date.
• The link between your account and your partner’s, and the one-time invite code that created it.
• Game results and times, the challenges and wagers you write, and the rewards they produce.
• Films and series you save, mark watched, or schedule a night for.
• Shared goals, their steps, countdowns, and the special dates you add.
• Your answers to the daily question and the notes you send each other.

Menstrual cycle data

Kept apart from everything above, because it is health data and deserves different handling:

• Private by default. When you log a cycle, only you can read it.
• Sharing is opt-in and per-item — phase and predicted next period can be shared without symptoms or mood.
• Notes are never shared, whatever else is switched on.
• Revoking access takes effect on the server immediately, not just in the app’s display.
• It is never used for advertising, sold, or given to any third party.

What we deliberately do not collect

• Contacts.
• Precise location.
• Photos.
• Advertising identifiers.

Where it is stored

Google Firebase — Authentication and Cloud Firestore — operated by Google LLC, in the European Union (Firestore multi-region eur3). Server-side security rules do the enforcing: your account data is readable only by you, couple data only by the two linked partners, and cycle data only by you plus a partner you have explicitly granted access to.

Deleting your account

In the app: Settings, then Data & privacy, then Delete account. It removes your cycle data, your shared couple data, your profile and your sign-in, in that order. You can also write to us and we will do it within 30 days.

Leaving your partner’s side of it

Settings, then Partner, then Unlink. Your shared history is archived and neither of you can reach it in the app afterwards. Re-linking starts a fresh couple.
